How do I know whether I need an Windows server or a Linux server?

If you need Microsoft Windows specific technologies, like Active Server Pages (ASP)/ ASP.NET then the Windows server is for you. If you do not require these technologies, then Linux is the right choice. Most of the sites on the Internet are hosted on the Linux platform. We support Microsoft® FrontPage® Extensions on both Linux and Windows servers.
